AT&T deals are especially good if you're adding new lines, trading in, or switching carriers. With these offers, you can often save hundreds of dollars of the retail price of a new phone, and sometimes you can even get the phone for free. AT&T might not have quite the coverage Verizon does, but with these discounts and the generally cheaper pricing of its plans, your savings can start to add up.
Apple iPhone 14 & 14 Plus: up to $800 off with trade-in and unlimited plan at AT&T (opens in new tab)AT&T's deals on the iPhone 14 offer the usual trade-in rebate of up to $800 this week - essentially the standard rate offered on the device since launch. While not the most exciting offer, this rebate is in fact enough to get the standard device for free if your old device is valued highly enough. Bear in mind, however, that you will need to be getting a new device on an unlimited data plan to be eligible here. These can be pretty pricey (like $80 per month), so it's definitely worth lining up a trade-in for a respectable discount. See this same deal on the iPhone 14 Plus (opens in new tab).
Samsung Galaxy S23: save up to $800 with a trade-in and unlimited plan at AT&T (opens in new tab)The latest Samsung Galaxy device is here and this week's AT&T deals are offering an incredibly enticing trade-in rebate of up to $800. This saving is enough to get the standard Galaxy S23 for free and it's actually pretty easy to get the full rebate right now (the trade-in conditions are very generous. As always, however, you will need to pair this deal up with an unlimited data plan to be eligible for a saving. See this same deal on the Galaxy S23 Plus (opens in new tab).

I was lied to as well about the buy one get one promotion! I called AT&T in November to order a new iPhone and was told if I bought one I can get one free. The rep also told me that in 2-3 billing cycles I will see the credit and will no longer be charged for the 'free' phone. I called last month to find out why I haven't been credited yet and got the run around, was told it will show up this month. When I saw that I was still being charged, I called AT&T yesterday and was told I didn't qualify for the free phone!!! The rep who sold me the phones to me in November didn't say anything to me about qualifications! The customer service reps I spoke to yesterday gave me information that the rep in November conveniently left out! I told her that AT&T is a scam! I'm a 24 year customer and to be lied to is unacceptable!! As soon as I am able in the next month, I will be taking my business elsewhere! AT&T is losing a very good customer!!
We have had a similar situation; we started new service in August 2018 and were told we would get one iPhone 8 and the second one free. We were told that the cost of the 2nd phone would be credited back to my account in 2-3 billing cycles. I have been calling AT&T since December and each time I call I'm told they are looking into at and that I would get a response by email in a few weeks; this has been going on for months now and there has been no resolution. Each time I call I'm told that a claim is being submitted, the case is being documented, etc. but there has been no resolution and we are still being billed the full cost of two iPhones. I just tried to get an email address for AT&T Customer Service since the phone calls aren't getting us anywhere, and have been told there is no way to email Customer Service; only phone calls and chats.
It seems getting screwed buy att buy one get one offer is an ongoing problem which in my eyes on the verge of criminal I to an getting screwed by att in buy one get one they truely dont care about their customers I've been a loyal customer for going on 4 years and this treatment is terrible my case has been referred to a special department that was suppose to resolve issue in 72 hours well I've been waiting 72 times 3 now and I get the feeling they are trying to wear me down and pretty much force acceptance that I'm gonna pay for what's free
(Reuters) - Sprint Corp said on Monday it will offer Apple Inc's new iPhone 8 for free with a qualifying phone trade-in, following AT&T Inc's buy one, get one free promotion on Friday for DirecTV and U-verse TV customers.
While carriers have traditionally used phone launches to lure customers and gain market share, last year's free phone deals were easily copied by rivals and resulted in no competitive advantage, analysts say.
Barclays analysts characterized the initial promotions - including AT&T's buy one, get one free deal - as largely in line with expectations, but said the carriers could ramp up promotions heading into the holidays, according to a note to clients on Monday.
A new iPhone 8 is free with trade in of an iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, Samsung Galaxy S8, Samsung Galaxy S8+ or Samsung Galaxy Note8. You can get this deal when you sign up for an 18-month Sprint Flex lease and wireless plan. Sprint says it regularly charges $29.17 per month for the iPhone 8, but that amount will be credited back to the customer.
AT&T, meantime, has a buy one, get one free offer, with one catch: You must have DirecTV or AT&T U-verse TV service to qualify. AT&T is also offering a $300 or $200 credit when you trade in certain older devices.
What about if I pay for the X in full, since AMEX Platinum requires this to get the extended warranty, and you use the monthly credit to in essence get the iPhone 8 for free? Does this work or am I missing something?
